2018 ILEA Association Update

Special thanks to all those attended our 2018 kick-off event last Thursday and a huge thanks to Tobacco Dock, we had some great social media coverage so check out the posts in twitter & Instagram.

It has been a really busy few months at ILEA HQ working through a number of changes to ensure a robust and exciting 2018 for all our members. We have been working closely with ILEA in the US and strengthening our position in the industry, alongside other associations.
In December we held a closed members breakfast on GDPR, a topic and an event format we will be repeating later this quarter.

We have been busy outlining our educational strategy and key themes for the year ahead. Once again, we are looking to start a conversation about the future of the events industry and the role of experience. The main themes we will be exploring are Millennial and Centennial MindsetsCreative Play and Global Event Technology Trends.

We want you to be more involved pre, during and after the sessions, so we will be rolling out different event formats encompassing workshops, boot camps and huddles. Like last year, you will see us at Summer Event Show and International Confex, and we will create a series of exclusive specialist events just for our members.
Our educational and programmes team are looking for members for speaking opportunities for both industry wide conferences and ILEA closed events so if you are interested in someone from your team joining us on panel debates and industry conferences please chat to Caitlin, Hannah and Mark.

We are also increasing our efforts with local universities and event students to make sure we are supporting the development of our industry talent and future leadership.

And, of course, we are always keen to promote networking between members and other influential #eventprofs!
Some of our ILEA board teams are on the hunt for new committee members so do email us to discuss how you could become more involved as members and be part of the 2018 ILEA journey.

Finally we are also looking for members for online interviews focusing on the wellness and diversity conversations in events. You can chat to Mark or Hannah about being a part of those.

I would like to take the opportunity to thank you for trusting us and supporting the events industry by being part of our association, but also promise you that you will be hearing much more from us from now on. Keep coming to our events, following us on social media and letting us know where we can improve. We know we have something different to say than most of the mainstream options and we’re really excited about the events and content lined up for the coming year.

I look forward to seeing you next week at the Summer Event Show (click here to register)
